Barcelona continued their tear through La Liga and there is no sign of them letting down.  They avenged their only loss of the season against Numancia and the leagus has now become a two-horse race.

Madrid kept pace with a 1-0 against Deportivo.  Raúl is now one goal away from Alfredo DiStefano’s record.  Sevilla and Valencia were not able to answer the bell as Los Chés fell at the Son Moix against Mallorca.  Sevilla in the meantime caught the wrath of Nikola Zigic who has been on a tear ever since he returned to Cantabria.

Hugo Sánchez continued to be the darling of Almería as their win against Bilbao put them further away from relegation.
