Real Madrid´s world went crazy at the beginning of the week and the shit hit the fan on Friday as vice president that was in relative anonymity was thrust in to the position of being the top authority at Spain´s biggest club.

Now he will have (at least on an interim basis) the responsibility to keep the Merengue boat afloat.  This maritime lawyer from Valencia will have the responsibility to move the club on despite their problems this season so far.  For him it would seem like a hand in glove type of situation that would cater to his particular realm of experience.  He is among one of the more qualified individuals for this post.

Vicente Boluda Fos was born on March 31, 1955 and has been a member of the club since 1989.   His resume in the navegation and martime industry is quite extensive.  Boluda earned a law degree as well as a series of Masters degrees in maritime law from the Universidad Complutense. He is also a member of the Academia Española de Jurisprudencia y Legislación (Spanish Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation) as well as president of the regional water company, Aguas de Valencia .

The Real Madrid president is also the head of the second largets martime company in the world when it comes to towing and navigation industry, Corporación Maritima Boluda.  His company encompasses 85 societies and participating corporations.   His company held 340 cargo ships that are valued anywhere between €1.5-2 billion and they employ close to 4,000 employees.

He has worked in conjunction with various other associations in the marine industry the Spanish Ministry of Defense as their maritime expert.

If there is a negative to having a person like Boluda Fos is his direct involvement with the recent past- Calderón´s past.  He became vice president of the entity as soon as Calderón was ¨elected¨back in 2006.  He replaced Juan Mendoza, father of former president and Calderón´s political rival throughout the 90´s Ramón Mendoza.

Mendoza resigned from his position after a disagreement between him and various other board members over a supposed an supposed partnership that was put in place between the club and the NBA.

What do you think about the appointment of Boluda Fos as Madrid interim president?
