The Spanish national team ended 2008 being the best national team in the world for a fifth consecutive month.  The top two did not change, but La Furia’s advantage over second place Germany widened by 38 points.

Reigning world champs Italy swapped places with the Netherlands while Brazil and Diego Maradona’s Argentina side are behind by about 80 points.   Ukraine and two-time African champs Egypt  were the biggest movers in the top 25.

France, Portugal, and Czech Republic find themselves in a three-way tie for 11th place
