Argentine international Lionel Messi will miss yet another six weeks of action after reinjuring his hamstring midweek during the Catalans win against Celtic in the return leg of the Champions League knockout stages. The injury upstaged the ultimate 1-0 result and the fact that the blaugrana earned a spot in the Champions League quarterfinals. Messi looks to be out between 4-6 weeks and this led to various repercussions within the squad. Team captain Carles Puyol stated after the game that this injury was attributed to the media’s constantly pressuring him to return and he did so prematurely. Messi suffered this injury just a couple of months ago after facing Valencia and was out for a month during that stint into the training room. This would most likely have him out for the Champions League quarterfinals as well as the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi which will be taking place at Mestalla on March 19th.
