A special note from me, The Gaffer. I’d like to introduce you to Kevin Walker, who you may have noticed has been keeping readers up to date on the latest activities involving Serie A. It’s a pleasure to have Kevin on board as a blogger (and possible future podcaster) for Serie A. To learn more about him, here’s his bio:

Kevin Walker
My name is Kevin Walker  and I’ve been in love with the beautiful game from an early age. Having played at the youth and intercollegiate level in the Toronto region and in working for several sporting companies, I still owe much to my father my greatest influence. Dad brought with him the English sportsman culture to Canada and was a member of several Toronto cricket clubs in his day. His greatest expertise and first love was of course cricket, (having played for the national side) but he nevertheless instilled in me a love of all things football, one more of his passions.

Being North American I naturally gravitated toward the fast pace of football and living in the greater Toronto region exposed me to a variety of cultures, each with unique traditions of the game. A large Italian sports population no doubt played it’s part and I was naturally intrigued by RAI broadcasts intermittently available on cable television.  This was probably my first glimpse of European football and why I find myself enjoying more and more the flavor of Italian Calcio.

Current fascination is further discovery of Calcio origins, it’s city rivalries, politics and exports to the world. Hopefully you’ll enjoy my contribution to the world of Serie A and visit SerieA Talk for weekly discussions about this fascinating game.
