NSCAA Event Coverage, 2008

NSCAA logoEPL Talk will be attending the National Soccer Coaches of Association of America (NSCAA) event on January 18-20 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The plan is to cover the event for an upcoming episode of the EPL Talk Podcast, the only Premier League interview show on the Internet. NSCAA is the largest soccer event in America each year. Among those people appearing this year to give clinics to soccer coaches include:

  • Steve McClaren, former England and Middlesbrough manager,
  • Gerard Houllier, former Liverpool manager,
  • Preki, former Everton striker,
  • Personnel from the academies of Manchester United, West Ham United and Bolton Wanderers, as well as the Football Association, and
  • Jozef Venglos, former Aston Villa and Slovakia manager.

I’ll be trying to get interviews with many of those celebrities as well as others.

If you live near the Baltimore area or you plan on being at the event, contact me at thegaffer[at]epltalk[dot]com if you’d like to say hello or grab a drink.

I work right down the street from the convention center, but I totally forgot NSCAA was in Baltimore this year. We’ll definitely have to get together next weekend!

Rats! If this event was a week later I would back at school and be able to grab a pint with ya. Have fun in Charm City, Gaffer.

ps – If you want to know of any cool areas to visit (inner harbor = tourist hell), feel free to ask.

Do we really want Steve McLaren or anyone from the FA coming to talk to our coaches?

I thought the goal was to become tactically competent.
