Here are more of the top soccer stories that you may find interesting (see below). I should be able to resume full blogging next week. This week, I’m tackling the finishing touches to the redesigned EPL Talk site, which I’m looking forward to introducing to you either this weekend or next week. Stay tuned.
  • Setanta Sports has announced that Jon Champion will be joining the Irish broadcasting company as one of their top football commentators. Many of you will be very familiar with his voice. Ian Crocker will also be covering Premier League games for Setanta. The addition of Champion definitely will add a touch of class to Setanta’s coverage.
  • In Everton’s second and final pre-season friendly in the United States, the side beat Ventura County Fusion at the Home Depot Center 4-0.
  • I almost missed it, but I’m glad I didn’t as it was a cracker of a match: Toronto 2-4 Aston Villa. I totally forgot it was on Fox until I watched the match last night and what a fantastic advertisement this was for Major League Soccer as opposed to the Beckham charade from last weekend. Both Toronto and Villa played some fantastic attacking football and the crowd was definitely wonderful to hear. Let’s hope Villa’s match against the Columbus Crew this weekend is just as exciting.
  • Sorry for the delay with the EPL Talk Podcast this week. I hope to have a new episode ready for your listening pleasure by this Friday night.
