As mentioend here first on Saturday…former French international and Real Madrid superstar Zinedine Zidane might reunite with David Beckham at the Home Depot Center this upcoming MLS season.

Germany sports daily Bild has reported that the retired superstar wants to return to the pitch. The FIFA World Player of the Year will supposedly sign a one-year deal with the LA Galaxy for a salary that would be “Beckham-like”. According to Bild, this deal was engineered by Adidas, who has a contract with the former French captain.

Zidane retired from the sport after the final of the World Cup this past summer after his incident with Italian defender Marco Materazzi. Regardless of his swansong he ended up in second place in the FIFA World Player of the Year standings behind Fabio Cannavaro. In his 18-year career he played for Cannes FC, Bordeaux, Juventus, and Real Madrid.
