Foregone (World Soccer Talk Review Podcast)

As so much of the season was decided before the last weekend, this final weekend didn’t feel like it did the season justice. But when you look back, this really has been one of the most mixed up, compelling and downright surprising seasons of the Premier League. There was absence of old narrative with SAF, but creation of new lines with Rodgers and Martinez making Merseyside prominent again.

Elsewhere, the managers of the season have been lining up for their awards. Each with a different vice and each with a reformed image. So, who deserves it?

There has been loss and pain along the way. Who suffered the most? Love and triumph for City, the best finish that we could have asked for? World, let’s Talk Soccer:

  1. Kartik,

I love the halftime kit change story. I have a lucky jersey (headed to the laundry today for the first time since August) and then I have a “momentum shift” jersey that I keep around for a 65th minute change. I also take my first sip of either Guinness or Coffee just as the kickoff is taking place.

Our adherence to our various superstitions is more than likely what won the title for City this year. Now, if only I could get my champions league practices down we’d really be in business.

    1. My favorite Kartik story of the year is when he was on the underground and had the USA jacket on, and some boys on the train started chanting “YOU ARE GAY”. Funny I was cracking up.
