  1. So Morgan went on a rant about how FIFA should only allow European refs at the World Cup because as eurocentric as he is, he claims “everyone agree that european refs are the best”. Funny statement to make considering that some of the controversial decisions in the World Cup so far has been made by european refs; and south americans were not happy with Webb’s referring in the Brazil-Chile game; and the ref he was complaining about is portuguese.

It’s high time people realize that there’s no such thing as a uniform ref performance. The laws of the game do not lend itself to that because so much is left to the referee’s indiscretion and personality. You put 10 refs to officiate a game you’ll get 10 different performances (with or without real mistakes). People so often confuse different interpretations with mistakes. Morgan unfortunately is a valid example of that.
