FOX Sports’ Bundesliga TV schedule revealed for first month of new season

FOX Sports will launch its television coverage of the 2017/18 season on FS1 on Friday, August 18 with a live broadcast of Bayern Munich against Bayer Leverkusen. The new season will be FOX’s third consecutive season of its five-year TV rights deal with Germany’s top-flight league. Compared to the 2016/17 season on FOX Sports, the schedule from FOX Sports is very similar so far. The only two major exceptions are: (1) there are no Bundesliga games scheduled on the FOX network during the first month of the season. FOX Sports’ promo video for World Cup 2018 coverage [VIDEO]

In case you missed it, FOX Sports recently unveiled a promotional video to begin advertising its coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will be televised in the United States across the network of FOX Sports channels. You can watch the video below, but the promo video features clips of some of the most iconic moments in World Cup history. FOX Sports reveals commentators and studio analysts for Gold Cup coverage

FOX Sports has announced their broadcast team for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which kicks off on Friday July 7. The most important news is that Landon Donovan will return as a co-commentator to team up with John Strong and Stu Holden for the US Men’s National Team games. In the group stage, the US plays Panama, Martinique and Nicaragua. Pregame coverage will be hosted by Kate Abdo and Rob Stone. Both Abdo and Stone will rotate the hosting responsibilities, and will be joined by studio analysts Alexi Lalas, Aly Wagner, Eric Wynalda, Mariano Trujillo, Giles Barnes and Fernando Fiore. ... All three group stage games for the US Men’s National Team in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold will be televised on FXX, FOX and FS1 in the United States, which should help give the USMNT some big viewing numbers in the first week of the tournament. Here at World Soccer Talk, we will continue to take the lead by identifying the new generation of candidates for soccer television commentary positions on major national television networks in the United States, with particular emphasis on English-language broadcasts. FOX Soccer 2GO becomes FOX Soccer Match Pass

FOX Sports has rebranded their paid streaming service FOX Soccer 2GO to FOX Soccer Match Pass. The more unique name for the streaming service will help avoid confusion with the free (but authentication required) streaming service named FOX Sports GO. FOX Soccer Match Pass is currently in beta, and more details regarding the service should be released in the coming days. FOX Deportes to televise Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana tournaments again on US TV

FOX Deportes has announced that Spanish-language broadcasts of Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana will be returning to US airwaves through the end of the year. The Group Stages of the Copa Libertadores competition were aired on FOX Soccer 2GO streaming service earlier this year, but FOX Sports stopped broadcasting the games in February with no warning and no explanation. Presumably, FOX Sports and CONMEBOL weren’t able to agree on the rights to the competition.
