Chapecoense face Atletico four months after crash

Chapecó (Brazil) (AFP) – Four months after a plane crash all but wiped out Chapecoense, the Brazilian club will on Tuesday face the rivals they were on their way to play, Colombia’s Atletico Nacional. Nineteen Chapecoense players and 24 club officials were killed on November 28 when the team’s plane crashed into the Colombian mountains. Chapecó (Brazil) (AFP) – Chapecoense made an emotional but ultimately disappointing home debut in the Copa Libertadores losing their biggest hometown match since a plane crash all but wiped out the Brazilian club. Maracaibo (Venezuela) (AFP) – Brazilian football team Chapecoense on Wednesday promised more surprises after an emotional 2-1 victory in their first international match since a plane crash wiped out their squad. Maracaibo (Venezuela) (AFP) – Brazilian football team Chapecoense landed in Venezuela on Monday ahead of their first international fixture since a plane crash wiped out their team. The side had to rebuild virtually from scratch after the crash killed 19 of their players and staff in November, turning a fairytale rise into a nightmare. Brazil, Colombia play match for Chapecoense

Rio de Janeiro (AFP) – Brazil and Colombia play a benefit match on Wednesday for the families of members of Brazilian team Chapecoense who were killed in a plane crash in November. The team’s plane went down on November 28 in mountains in Colombia as they flew to play Atletico Nacional of Medellin in the final of the Copa Sudamericana tournament.
