Thoughts on Germany-Costa Rica
Thoughts on Germany-Costa Rica

Jurgen Klinsmann has taken lots of criticism for his attacking style and his decision to continue to live in California while managing the national team. . While the critics may continue to persist, Klinsmann’s Germany side scored 4 goals today and beat Coast Rica 4-2. Miroslav Klose picked up where […]

Rooney Cleared to play; Returns to Germany

A whole nation rejoiced when this picture was broadcast earlier today. Wayne Rooney has been declared fit and will play in Germany, though his status for Saturday’s opener versus Paraguay is still up in the air. With Rooney’s return England must be considered among the favorites to win the World […]

LA Galaxy Fire Former U.S. National Team Coach
LA Galaxy Fire Former U.S. National Team Coach

In an ironic move, former U.S. National Team defender and current LA Galaxy GM, Alexi Lalas fired his former U.S. Men’s National Team Coach, Steve Sampson. I guess winning the MLS Cup last year wasn’t enough for Sampson. Yes, the Galaxy are struggling this year but this move smacks of […]

France has experienced opposite extremes in the past two World Cup finals. In 1998 the French did double, both hosting the event and winning it. GROUP E: AN OVERVIEW OF THE USA’S OPPONENTS
GROUP E: AN OVERVIEW OF THE USA’S OPPONENTS

Will the USA advance or will we take a step back to our 1998 World Cup form? This question has troubled all of us since the draw was announced in December 2005, and we realized that the USA were to be placed in a group with two of the top […]

GROUP D PREVIEW
GROUP D PREVIEW

Portugal were among the biggest disappointments at Korea/Japan 2002. From John O’Brien’s goal that put USA in the lead early in the opening match until the final whistle in a hard fought loss to South Korea, it seemed Portugal’s vast talent was being wasted in desperation comeback mode. This time […]

GROUP C PREVIEW
GROUP C PREVIEW

Group C is without question the group of death at Germany 2006. In fact, this group may be one of the all time toughest with four squads that in my estimation could win the group and could win just about any other group in the competition. However, Argentina and Ivory […]

GROUP B PREVIEW
GROUP B PREVIEW

Group B originally looked like one of the toughest in the World Cup Draw. However in the past few weeks, arguably the most important player for each of the three serious contenders from this group has fallen with a serious injury. This makes prognostication of this group particularly risky, but […]

Thoughts on the US Performances Versus Morocco and Venezuela
Thoughts on the US Performances Versus Morocco and Venezuela

The performance of the US National Team on Tuesday night in Nashville against Morocco was nothing short of embarrassing. Morocco is without a doubt the best side the US will face in the run up to Germany 2006, but Morocco had brought basically a B team to the match and […]
