One of the more bizarre stories in soccer looks set to return from its origins.
According to the Portuguese sports daily A Bola, Manchester United winger Bebe is on the verge of signing for Benfica.
The player, who was originally purchased by Manchester United from the Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes for £7.4 million, has spent the last three seasons on loan at various clubs: Besiktas, Rio Ave and last season with Pacos de Ferreira.
Bebe has never found a regular spot on Manchester United’s first team and has apparently grown despondent in recent weeks.
