Champion’s League Round of 16 and FOX gives us commentary from guys in a studio watching on a monitor.
FOX continues to be an embarrassment.
PS to Christopher or Alex: Does FOX save money by not paying for the on-site commentary?
CM Asia, the world-feed commentary is included in the money that FOX Sports paid for the UEFA Champions League rights. So when they use in-house talent such as John Strong and Stu Holden, they end up spending more time, energy and (probably) money.
“they end up spending more time, energy and (probably) money.”…..
For a vastly inferior product!
CM,
Choose, Fox awful commentators in a studio in LA or Arlo?!?!??! :- )
Hypothetical of course, I know Arlo is NBC…..
Fox Sports has less then 2 months of Champions League coverage, they will only use it’s domestic crew for commentary, including for the Final in May. I believe Fox is angry because they lost the Champions League rights to Turner Sports and they’re taking it out on the viewers. It’s all on purpose.
Turners first move is announce Steven Nash as a studio analyst so that’s not a good sign. So the only hope left is that they just decide to be cheap and use the world feed commentators.
I was worried for a while during the Spurs v Juve match; I thought my TV was broken as Stuart Holden hadn’t spoken for about 10 seconds.
