The World Cup Qualifier between the United States and Mexico was unsurprisingly the most-watched soccer match of the week with over 6.8 million viewers tuning in between FOX Sports 1 and Univision. The match was the most-viewed soccer match for 2017 on both networks individually, with FOX Sports 1 contributing 2.3 million viewers and Univision contributing 4.5 million viewers.

Mexico-Costa Rica and Juventus-Real Madrid were the only other matches in 2017 to have more than 3 million viewers.

Major League Soccer’s lone nationally broadcasted match of the week came Saturday on UniMás as Chicago Fire beat out newcomers Atlanta United 2-0 in front of an audience of 180,000, down 37% from last week’s broadcast (286k, Timbers/Earthquakes). Since the start of the MLS season, UniMás broadcasts are averaging 174,000 viewers through 12 matches.
