In a big blow to the PlayStation Vue streaming service, the Sony-owned company has dropped beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS en Español from its programming.

The removal of beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS en Español and beIN SPORTS Connect goes into effect today (June 8). PlayStation communicated the changes in an e-mail sent to subscribers (see above screengrab).

For many soccer fans, beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS en Español are a must-have to watch some of the best soccer from around the world including Real Madrid and Barcelona games in La Liga, CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers, Serie A, Ligue Un and Capital One Cup (League Cup).

The blow to Vue customers comes on the heels of the recent removal of Viacom channels, as well as no availability for the NHL Network and A&E family of networks.

No explanation was given by PlayStation Vue why they removed the beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS en Español and beIN SPORTS Connect channels.

With the removal of beIN SPORTS channels, PlayStation Vue is no longer seen as a frontrunner of streaming services for sports fans. The leading contenders are Sling TV, fubo Premier and DIRECTV NOW. Out of the three, fubo Premier is the only streaming service to have beIN SPORTS Connect, beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS en Español all integrated into their streaming platform. beIN SPORTS is not available on DIRECTV NOW. With Sling TV, beIN SPORTS is available but only by adding on one of the packages.

Having said that, fuboTV doesn’t offer the ESPN family of networks. So depending on what sports networks you’re looking for, either DIRECTV NOW, Sling TV or fuboTV may be the best fit for you. To help your decision making, we’ve created a side-by-side comparison guide that goes into more detail about each of the leading streaming services.
