fuboTV today announced a game changing deal for soccer fans in the United States with the news that they’ll be adding networks from NBC, FOX Sports and Telemundo in addition to entertainment and sport channels from NBA TV, The Big Ten Network and A&E.

For soccer fans, the list of new channels that fuboTV will be adding in the coming weeks includes NBCSN, NBC, CNBC, NBC Universo, Telemundo, FOX, FS1, FS2, FOX Sports Net, FOX Deportes and FOX Soccer Plus. Those will be added to fuboTV’s already comprehensive portfolio of streaming channels, which include beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS en Español, Univision, Univision Deportes, UniMas, One World Sports, GolTV, TyC Sports and streaming of all Portuguese Primeira Liga games.

In addition to those soccer-related networks, fuboTV will be offering A&E, NBA TV, Golf Channel, FOX College Sports, History Channel, Lifetime, LMN, Viceland, Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FX, FXM, FXX, National Geographic, Nat Geo Mundo, Nat Geo WILD, Fuse, FM, Bravo, Chiller, Cloo, CNBC World, E!, Esquire, MSNBC, Oxygen, Sprout, Syfy, USA Network and The Weather Channel.

The announcement today is a game changing deal because (1) it’s the most comprehensive package of soccer-related games and coverage out of all of the competing streaming companies, (2) the pricing is very competitive and (3) it gives most soccer fans everything they need to be able to cut the cord from cable or satellite and watch all of the programming they want.

In total, fuboTV will be doubling the amount of channels it’ll make available to subscribers, providing more than 70 channels including national broadcast (FOX and NBC) and cable networks, regional sports networks (from both FOX and NBC) and local broadcast stations owned and operated by fuboTV’s new TV partners.

“Today’s announcement underscores our commitment to our subscribers to deliver a robust line-up of premium sports and entertainment, from the finest media brands in the world,” said fuboTV CEO and Co-founder David Gandler. “We are equally determined to drive significant value to our expanding list of media partners beyond licensing fees – leveraging our technical capabilities to meet the monetization challenges unique to live streaming.”

Beginning in the coming weeks with a Beta launch of the service, new fuboTV subscribers will have access to networks that hold the rights to the world’s most popular sports at an introductory, discounted rate of $34.99 per month. fuboTV users in the U.S. will soon have the ability to watch live events from all of the major American professional and college sports, as well as international leagues and tournaments – including live baseball, basketball, boxing, cricket, cycling, football, golf, hockey, horse racing, mixed martial arts, motorsports, professional wrestling, rugby, tennis – with an expanding line-up of more soccer than any streaming service. Additionally, a full array of live and video on demand (VOD) entertainment programming from the new networks will also be available to subscribers.

The upcoming launch of fuboTV’s beta service will also coincide with a new version of the linear over-the-top (OTT) distributor, with upgraded back-end technology and new viewer features. While in Beta, the new fuboTV – available to be streamed online, via mobile or Internet-connected/OTT device – will include features such as cross-platform DVR, VOD, in-browser streaming and digital TV guide navigation. Additional features will then be introduced in the coming months, such as programming look back and start over, access to 25+ TV Everywhere authenticated apps, personalization and user profiles.

One of the TV Everywhere apps will be the NBC Sports App, which will be available via fuboTV at a future date. In the meantime, fuboTV offers beIN SPORTS Connect, which unlocks a ton of soccer games not available on TV.

The agreements that fuboTV has signed with NBC, FOX, A&E and other networks will position fuboTV as the leading provider of soccer matches to viewers in the United States. No cable or satellite TV subscription is required, so the introductory price of $34.99 per month is extremely competitive.

The only glaring omission from fuboTV is ESPN. But given that ESPN has limited offerings for soccer fans plus the fact that ESPN is very restrictive when working with streaming providers (not allowing pausing or rewinding of content, in many cases), the ESPN omission isn’t a significant loss, to be frank.

In comparison, Sling Blue and Sling Orange is $45/month for FOX and ESPN networks, while PlayStation Vue’s Core Slim package is $34.99/month and includes beIN SPORTS (but not beIN SPORTS en Español), NBCSN, FS1, FS2 but no regional FOX affiliates. FOX Soccer Plus is not included with PlayStation Vue but can be added for an additional price of $14.99/month. DirecTVNOW, meanwhile, doesn’t offer beIN SPORTS or beIN SPORTS en Español, and its pricing (for soccer fans who want similar channels) is more expensive than fuboTV, Sling TV and PlayStation Vue.

Today’s news is exciting for soccer fans who want to cut the cord and save money. There are still plenty of questions to be answered so we can get a full grasp of how today’s announcement will impact our viewing experience. As soon as we get the details on questions about release dates (for NBC and FOX) as well as whether the new pricing will eliminate the $9.99 base package, we’ll inform readers via our fuboTV page.

For soccer fans in the United States, fuboTV is an attractive proposition that can give you access to a huge lineup of soccer games from around the world at a price that is enticing.
