Formerly known as the Capital One Cup, the newly named EFL Cup is shown exclusively in the US on beIN SPORTS.

The English Football League Cup is played amongst the teams in the top four tiers of the English League. The First Round takes place August 9-11, 2016 and involves all the teams from League 1, League 2 and 22 of the 24 Championship teams (Norwich & Newcastle received byes).

The Second Round will be played August 23-25, 2016 and adds the 2 remaining Championship sides plus 13 Premier League teams (the 7 teams involved in European Cup competitions receive a bye).

The Third Round sees the remaining 7 Premier League teams joining the competition and will be played Sept. 21-23, 2016. The competition ends with the League Cup Final, which this season will take place on Sunday, February 26, 2017.

Reminder: Unlike the FA Cup, the EFL cup matches that end in a draw after regulation time go into two 15 minute extra time periods followed by penalties if necessary. The semifinals are played over two legs.
