Rio de Janeiro (AFP) – Brazil sacked their coach Dunga on Tuesday following a stunning first round exit at the Copa America Centenario edition.

After an opening 0-0 draw with Ecuador was followed by the 7-1 win over Haiti, Brazil needed a draw with Peru Monday to reach the quarter-finals but crashed out of the tournament after instead losing 1-0.

After a meeting between Dunga and officials from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on Tuesday it was announced the coach and his entire back room staff had been fired.
