Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from the 3-1 home defeat to Leicester City last weekend when they play Tottenham in the final Premier League match of round 26.

The Citizens have not been very consistent recently with three wins, two draws and a defeat in their last six games which has seen them drop to fourth place on the table, six points behind league leaders Leicester City.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men have the best home record in the Premier League but they have not beaten any of the sides currently in the top six, something they will need to arrest on Sunday to avoid dropping farther down in the title race.

Tottenham Hotspur are on a good run of form with four league wins in a row since losing to Leicester in early January.

They have now established themselves as serious title contenders and will be looking to underline their credentials by getting a positive result at the Etihad.

Recent meetings between the sides have been dominated by Manchester City but Spurs thrashed the Citizens 4-1 in the first meeting of the season at White Hart Lane.

Team news

The big news for the Manchester City is that captain Vincent Kompany will make a return for this fixture alongside David Silva after both players made their return to full fitness during the week.

However, Kevin De Bruyne, Fabian Delph, Bacary Sagna and Jesus Navas remain on the sidelines.

For Tottenham, Dele Alli is likely to return to the starting XI after coming off the bench in the last match while Kevin Wimmer could partner Toby Alderweireld in defense with Jan Vertonghen still out injured.
