Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to relegation threatened Norwich City in Saturday’s early kickoff.

The injury ravaged Reds were defeated 1-0 at home to Manchester United in their last league game which saw them remain in ninth place on the Premier League, eight points off the Champions League places. Their attacking deficiencies were glaring in that last game, as they couldn’t convert their chances despite having a whooping 19 shots on goal.

Norwich on the other hand dropped to 16th place after losing 3-0 to Bournemouth last Saturday. Alex Neil’s side have lost three of the last five matches and have conceded three goals in each of their last three games in all competitions ,highlighting serious defensive problems.

The Canaries have responded by signing defenders Timm Klose and Ivo Pinto from VFL Wolfsburg and Dinamo Zagrab, respectively, as well as Steven Naismith from Everton to help improve a poor goal return of 24 goals from 22 games.

Daniel Sturridge is back in training but he will not be fit enough to feature in this fixture, meaning Roberto Firmino will lead Liverpool’s line with Jordan Ibe and Adam Lallana operating alongside him in a three-man attack. Meanwhile, Dejan Lovren could be in contention to start after recovering from a hamstring problem, but Philippe Coutinho, Martin Skrtel and Divock Origi remain on the sidelines.

Norwich boss Neil does not have any injury issues to worry about and he may hand starting places to new signings Naismith, Pinto and Klose.
