Manchester United will wear adidas jerseys next season that will be inspired by Newton Heath, according to a report by Footy Headlines. However United fans, don’t panic. The club won’t be wearing the green and gold shirts.

The Red Devils wore the green and gold shirts (see below) inspired by Newton Heath from 1992 to 1994. While they were a hit at the time, adidas and Manchester United have decided to create a red half-and-half shirt for the 2016/17 season. One half will be the traditional United red, while the other half will be a darker red color.

According to Footy Headlines, the design of the new Manchester United 16-17 kit is rounded off with two lines of hexagons, connecting the two red halves and representing the bond of unity that forged the great club of Manchester United. Otherwise, the new adidas Manchester United 2016-2017 jersey is expected to feature a modern and simplistic look, incorporating only white accents, such as the adidas stripes. The brand’s iconic 3 Stripes trademark will be placed on the sides of the shirt, just like with adidas’ Euro 2016 kits.
