fuboTV, the online streaming network, today announced a substantial round of new investment that will help grow its premium soccer content through partnerships with other networks and leagues.

The online streaming network, that features coverage of beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS en Español, GolTV and many more, raised $4 million in Series A funding. fuboTV has a large arsenal of rights including La Liga, Serie A, Ligue Un, Championship, as well as Ajax TV, Everton TV, Barca TV, Real Madrid TV and more. A one-month subscription to fuboTV is $6.99.

According to fuboTV, this funding will accelerate fuboTV’s expansion in TV network carriage agreements, platform features and content marketing for its soccer programming service.

“fuboTV is the first company to crack the code on how to curate video programming that reaches focused, yet large audiences,” said Jason Krikorian, general partner at DCM Ventures and co-founder of Sling Media. “In a short period of time, fuboTV has secured and monetized a remarkable amount of live soccer games from networks all over the world.  Innovative companies like fuboTV are transforming the way networks reach consumers and the way they consume content.”

Officially launched in January 2015, fuboTV has raised a total of $5.6 million in funding. fuboTV is an Over-the-Top (OTT) streaming service that gives soccer fans access to live global games and tournaments via linear cable networks, 24-hour club channels, TV series and news in one platform. Currently, fuboTV carries more than half the major international soccer leagues in the world, including La Liga, Serie A, Ligue Un, Primeira Liga, Copa America and English League Cup through carriage agreements with TV networks such as beIN Sports, GoITV and Benfica TV. Additionally, the company holds club partnerships with AJAX Amsterdam, Borussia Dortmund and Everton. fuboTV will use the new infusion of capital to grow its premium sports content, build out technical enhancements to its OTT multi-channel distribution platform and hire key personnel.
