Stevan Jovetic is set to join Inter Milan after the Serie A side announced he will have a medical on Tuesday.

The Montenegro striker has failed to establish himself at Manchester City and will seek to relaunch his career in Italy.

A post on Inter's official Twitter account read: "@stevanj35 [Jovetic] will arrive in Milan tomorrow before undergoing a medical on Tuesday."

It would be a second spell in Serie A for 25-year-old Jovetic, who scored 40 goals in five seasons with Fiorentina despite missing the 2010-11 campaign with a cruciate ligament injury.

He then joined City in 2013 but has managed just 12 goals in 45 appearances in two seasons in England.

Jovetic has been forced to compete for a place with Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko, as well as Alvaro Negredo in his first season and Wilfried Bony for the latter half of last season.

He did, however, collect winner's medals in the Barclays Premier League and Capital One Cup in 2014.

He made his international debut in 2007 and has established himself as a key figure in Montenegro's attack alongside the experienced Mirko Vucinic.
