Germany v. Sweden
4:00 PM – FOX Sports 1
Lansdowne Stadium – Ottawa

Narrowly escaping the tournament’s “Group of Death,” Sweden emerged from Group D in third place despite being favorites to win the Group before heading to Canada. Now Pia Sundhage’s team must face a powerful German side who recently hit their stride. Celia Sasic finished up Group play with four goals and showed no signs of slowing down.

In order to steal a win from Germany, Sweden is going to have to be powerful on the counter-attack and hit more shots on target. The Swedish midfield needs to keep possession and not allow the Germans to get into dangerous areas with the ball.

China PR v. Cameroon
7:30 PM – FOX Sports 1
Commonwealth Stadium – Edmonton

There’s a big difference in how these two teams like to play with China preferring to hold possession, while Cameroon prefers to do the opposite, using a wide open offensive style. Both teams will want to keep the majority of the ball in this game and although there may not be a ton of goals, the way these two teams face off should be very interesting.

Cameroon is fast and athletic and should exploit that in order to gain the edge over 90 minutes. China is going to have to play strong in the midfield to keep Cameroon from running over them.
