Japan v Switzerland

10PM- FOX Sports 1
Group C
BC Place Stadium

In the most interesting matchup of Group C, Japan and Switzerland are the two teams most likely to come out of this group. This first match may decide who will take first and second.

Switzerland was a goal-scoring machine in their qualifying campaign but if they do not possess the ball, they will not be able to create scoring opportunities. That should be Japan’s game plan early on. The Nadeshiko need to play their game and possess the ball while limiting chances for the opposition.

Switzerland will want to play a higher tempo than Japan might like. At the center of that pace will be Lara Dickenmann. The Swiss midfielder is the offensive lynchpin for her team and will be looking to disrupt the Japanese possession in the midfield.
