Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has confirmed that Luis Suarez is fit to face Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday (live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes in the United States).

The Uruguayan has not featured for La Blaugrana since picking up a knock during their Champions  League semi-final against Bayern Munich on May 12.

The striker was ruled out of Barcelona’s next game at the Vicente Calderon where La Blaugrana were crowned La Liga champions, and did not feature last weekend during the club’s 2-2 draw with Deportivo.

After training on his own for several weeks, Suarez took part in a first-team session with the rest of his teammates on Wednesday.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s final, Barcelona boss Luis Enrique revealed that Suarez was fit to face Athletic Bilbao. Whether or not the Uruguayan will once again team up with Lionel Messi and Neymar at the start of the match is yet to be seen.

“Luis Suarez is ok, he trained all week and, in principle, he’ll be ready to play,” Enrique said.

Barcelona enter the final as clear favorites and are attempting to overcome the second hurdle in their quest for a treble. They will be buoyed by the fact that the match will be played at the Camp Nou – although they will utilize the visitor’s dressing room for the contest.

But Enrique is aware of the dangers presented by Saturday’s opponent.

“We’ve seen teams play the final at home and lose,” the manager said. “The atmosphere will be different, on the perfect stage.

“Athletic press and don’t let you relax. You need to be on, motivated and to understand how you can beat them.”

Programming note: Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona will be shown LIVE on Saturday starting at 3:30pm on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com.
