During his twelve years as Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez has spent over $1.3 billion on transfers with the club winning 14 titles during that time.

Perez’s tenure with Madrid has been divided between two terms (2000-06, 2009-15).

During his first term as president he spent just over $500 million on transfers, with an additional $860 million during his current reign.

Perez signed Luis Figo from Barcelona in July 2000 to open his Galacticos policy, before completing the signings of Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, David Beckham, Michael Owen and Robinho during his first six years in charge of the club.

Upon his return in May 2009, Perez continued his heavy spending with the signings of Cristiano Ronaldo (whose deal was completed prior to Perez’s return), Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Kaka, Karim Benzema, Angel di Maria, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Isco.

Real Madrid won seven titles during his first term and another six in his current spell in charge.

The club has spent roughly $110 million per season, or $96 million on each trophy won.

During his two terms in charge, Perez has seen Real Madrid win the Champions League twice, La Liga three times, Copa del Rey twice, FIFA Club World Cup twice, Spanish Super Cup three times and the UEFA Super Cup twice.

By comparison, Barcelona have won 16 titles during the same twelve year period, with the Catalan club on course to win an additional three more trophies this season.
