Juventus striker Carlos Tevez says his team’s achievements are the result of the collective effort of everyone involved at the legendary Italian club.

Despite being one of Europe’s top teams in recent years, many experts consider Juventus underdogs heading into today’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid.

Fans and pundits seem to take little notice of the fact that Juventus are unbeaten in 12 home matches in UEFA competitions and have won four out of five games in Turin during this campaign – including victories over Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco in the knockout rounds.

Overall, the Bianconeri have lost just once in seventeen European home fixtures at the new Juventus Stadium (W10, D6, L1).

While domestically, the club has secured its fourth successive Scudetto and has advanced to the Coppa Italia final against Lazio.

Speaking ahead of today match against Real Madrid, Carlos Tevez stressed that the Champions League semi-final was open for anyone to take, and hailed the collective effort of everyone involved at Juventus this season.

“I think it’s a difficult semi-final, but an open one,” Tevez said. “Both legs will be hard-fought affairs and I don’t think there’s a favorite. The team who makes the least mistakes will emerge victorious.

“Our secret is the group itself. All of us respect the club’s history and shirt and this has led us to win the championship, get to the Coppa Italia final and reach the Champions League semi-finals.

“I have trust of the management, the boss and my teammates. This makes me feel important and when a player feels like this, he gives everything he’s got. This makes me perform at 100%.”
