Manager Arsene Wenger is ready to throw Alexis Sanchez straight back into the side as Arsenal look to bounce back from their defeat at Tottenham with victory over Barclays Premier League bottom club Leicester on Tuesday night.

The Gunners went down 2-1 at White Hart Lane on Saturday, hit by a second-half double from Harry Kane to turn the match in Spurs' favor after they had trailed to Mesut Ozil's early volley.

Arsenal are now down in sixth place and Wenger knows his side need a response to quickly close the gap on the top four.

Leading scorer Alexis Sanchez was not risked on Saturday because of a hamstring strain, although the Chile forward was keen to play.

Wenger, who started with Theo Walcott on the bench against Spurs in favor of fit-again Danny Welbeck, revealed while midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was still not in contention because of a groin problem, he is expecting to be able to call on Sanchez to help break down the Foxes.

"Chamberlain is out, the only one who has a chance to be on the bench or to start maybe is Sanchez," said Wenger, who insisted there was "no special reason" he selected Walcott as a substitute having talked up the England forward ahead of the match.

The Gunners boss has demanded a much improved display after his side slipped to a first defeat following five straight wins in all competitions.

"It is not the first time we lose a game, but how we bounce back is to take the information from what we got at Tottenham, and respond very quickly on Tuesday," Wenger said.

"It is disappointing because we did fight hard together, but we made too many technical mistakes.

"We lost too many balls in situations where we could have put Tottenham in trouble.

"What is funny is that every time we arrived in their final third we looked like we could score a goal, but we didn't do it enough."

Wenger was also less than impressed with the performance of referee Martin Atkinson, feeling several fouls went unpunished.

"I think they got away with a lot, especially (Ryan) Mason," Wenger added.

Wenger maintains there is no need to over analyze the defeat which had come on the back of some impressive displays, including last month's battling victory at Manchester City.

"Of course, it is dangerous (to draw definite conclusions)," he said.

"There is a long way to go, so I believe that just keep going and recover, show quickly a strong response on Tuesday, and then we see where we stand after that."

Wenger has been impressed by Kane's form this season, which has seen the 22-goal England Under-21 forward tipped for a senior call-up with national team boss Roy Hodgson in the stands at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

"I didn't know him, and maybe (his rise has been) unexpectedly for Tottenham, but he suddenly looks to grow at a very high speed," said Wenger.

"When you think that you have Soldado out, on the bench, and Adebayor not even considered, that shows you how the stature he has taken in this team.

"He is not only quality, but hard-working as well. He works extremely hard."
