“What is NBC Sports’ Premier League Breakway show and what have they done with my Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool games?”

Have no fear. We’re here to explain it all so you get the most out of the temporary new format or making sure you don’t miss a minute of your favorite team today.

For the first time ever, NBC Sports has decided to broadcast a “whiparound” or “breakaway” show to cover the eight 10am-Noon ET/7am-9am PT Premier League matches being played today. FOX Soccer has done this with UEFA Champions League games on MultiMatch 90 while ESPN did it for the World Cup Qualifiers with their FIFA World Cup Whiparound Show, but now it’s coming to the Premier League.

The premise is that with so many games being played simultaneously today, you can pack more action into 2 hours of Premier League coverage between 10am-Noon ET than if you tried to watch all of the games at once (good luck based on the number of devices you would need). As NBC Sports says in their promo for Premier League Breakaway, why settle for one match when you can watch all at once?

With today’s Premier League schedule, it’s only the first of three days during the entire 10 month season when all 20 teams play on the same day. The other two days are Boxing Day and the final day of the season. So whether you love or hate the idea of Premier League Breakaway, “normal” programming will return during the next Premier League gameweek.

The 8 Premier League matches that will be featured on Premier League Breakaway are listed below. NBCSN will be providing live look-ins to all eight games during the entire 90 minutes and will be switching broadcasts from stadium to stadium to make sure you don’t miss any of the exciting developments.

Rebecca Lowe will be hosting Premier League Breakaway, while pundits Robbie Mustoe and Kyle Martino will be providing analysis.

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace, 10am, NBCSN & NBC Sports Live Extra

If you’d prefer to watch the uninterrupted 90 minutes of any of the above games instead of Premier League Breakaway, they will be shown live on NBC Sports Live Extra and Premier League Extra Time.

After you watch the 10am-Noon ET Premier League matches, don’t forget to watch Tottenham against Chelsea in the 12:30pm-2:30pm ET game that will be shown on NBCSN.
