During an interview with the Spanish publication AS, Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas said he feels his side’s main rivals in the Champions League are Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.

Los Blancos head into Tuesday night’s encounter with Ludogorets at the Santiago Bernabeu as group winners and are in the midst of an 18-match winning streak in all competitions. The reigning European champions are heading towards a season of historic proportions both domestically and in Europe. And although Casillas feels the La Liga title race will go down to the end of the season, the 33-year-old goalkeeper doesn’t see many teams being able to stand toe-to-toe with the Spanish giants in the Champions League.

“I think we will have to go right until the end to fight for the league [La Liga],” Casillas told the Spanish newspaper.

“But our main rivals in Europe? Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.”

Atletico Madrid were the last team to defeat Real Madrid. Diego Simeone’s side beat Carlo Ancelotti’s men 2-1 in this year’s first installment of the Madrid derby back in September.

But since the defeat to Atletico on September 13th, Real Madrid have failed to lose a match and have outscored their opponents 63-8 in all competitions.

They already have one title under their belts, the UEFA Super Cup, and after their match against Ludogorets; Casillas and his teammates will make preparations for winning the club’s second trophy of the 2014-15 campaign. Real will travel to Morocco next week and turn their attention to the FIFA Club World Cup.

“We are going with the aim of becoming world champions,” Casillas told the Spanish publication. “We have done well this year and what better way is there to put the icing on the cake?”

Despite concerns over the Ebola outbreak, the FIFA Club World Cup begins on December 10th with the final taking place ten days later on December 20th.

Real Madrid will be joined in the global competition by: San Lorenzo (South America), Auckland City (Oceania),  Cruz Azul (Central America), Moghreb Athletic Tetouan (Africa – hosts), Sydney Wanderers (Asia) and Entente Setif (Africa).

Last years champions were Bayern Munich.
