Manchester United’s game against Crystal Palace at 10am ET Saturday will be shown on Premier League Extra Time (NBC Sports’ overflow channels) and streamed live on NBC Sports Live Extra today. The game will not be shown live on NBCSN. Instead, in its place, NBCSN has decided to show Southampton against Leicester City.

Here’s more information on what Premier League Extra Time and NBC Sports Live Extra are, and where to find them.

How to watch Premier League matches via NBC Sports Live Extra.

As an aside, today’s match between Manchester United and Crystal Palace being moved off NBCSN is a rarity. In this and previous seasons, deciding to show a match featuring stereotypically “lower table” sides such as Southampton versus Leicester instead of Manchester United would never have happened. But it’s an example of how the mighty has fallen. Despite their large fan base, Manchester United are not as glamorous or as entertaining as they once were. Southampton, currently sitting in second place in the table, are a bigger talking point and a more appealing side to watch for the non-Manchester United supporters.

The risk with moving the Manchester United-Crystal Palace game to Premier League Extra Time and NBC Sports Live Extra is whether the Live Extra online streaming platform can sustain the demand of so many people watching the game at one time. The service suffered hiccups a few weeks ago when an Arsenal game was moved to Live Extra at the last minute in order to show the Liverpool 0-0 Hull City game (because of the Mario Balotelli soap opera story). Let’s hope that NBC Sports Live Extra works like a charm today.
