For seasoned soccer fans, most of us have been in a situation — some more than others — where we’ve wanted our team to lose just so that the pressure can pile on the manager, leading to his eventual sacking.

We never want to see our team lose, but there comes a time when enough is enough, and the Chairman will only make drastic changes if the results worsen. A win in that situation may give the club’s executives hope that things will turn around, but most of us know that it’s a false dawn.

Watching Manchester City’s inconsistent performances this season, the anger against manager Manuel Pellegrini is beginning to fester where some fans have had enough with his inability to make in-game decisions.

As a Swansea City supporter, it’s been years since I wanted my club’s manager sacked. But I’m sure there were plenty of occasions during the dark days where I wanted that to happen. One instance was when Swansea hired a man named Kevin Cullis as manager and sacked him after 7 days and one and a half games. During half-time of one game, Swansea’s footballers took charge of the dressing room and were in charge of the side for the second half.
