Cristiano Ronaldo is set to become rapper Lil Wayne’s first soccer client in a new sports management company, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
In one of the more bizarre stories of the week, the New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne is starting his own sports management company. Though Wayne is an avid basketball fan, rumors are that Real Madrid and Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will be one of his first clients. He is set to manage all of Ronaldo’s business in the United States, which would be a huge deal to announce alongside his sports management startup.
Lil Wayne and Ronaldo are reported to be good friends, who exchange regular contact on social media sites, which seems to be fueling the speculation of Ronaldo signing to Wayne’s Young Money/Cash Money brand. Wayne already manages a successful record label of the same name.
Ronaldo, who is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles today to join up with the Real Madrid squad, will be looking forward from a disappointing World Cup performance, where a niggling knee injury stifled his performance as Portugal crashed out at the group stages of the competition.
