Would love to see a minnow move on go TICOS!

  2. Big Benz says:

Not even Jose could park a better Bus than this one.

  3. Oranje says:

If we lose it’s due to not being able to finish our chances. Textbook Dutch team. Outplay another side and then somehow contrive to lose. Get RVP off he’s done nothing.

  4. Christopher Harris says:

I can’t believe Holland keep on falling for the offside trap.

  5. rej4sl says:

This is just a joke, are the Ticos playing for penalties I wonder. They have defended nearly all the game with 10 men back …. weird.

    • Christopher Harris says:

The best chance they have to book a place in the semi-final is via penalties. Wise move.

      • rej4sl says:

I don’t blame the Ticos for doing that but I like teams who play for the win. The Nederlands were so calm doing the kicks. It is a shame the Ticos had to lose but someone had to.

  6. Christopher Harris says:

Lots of emotion and tension displayed by Dutch and Ticos players in break before penalties. ESPN decides to show commercials instead while Univision didn’t cut away.

  7. R.O says:

Too bad for CRC. They gave it all they had. But it’s the same old story, 4 of the 6 or 7 big teams are in the finals.

    Underdogs can’t break the barrier.

    • Oranje says:

I’d put us in there with the little team a. We have never won it. We are the same as Costa Rica, Honduras etc. We’ve gone close but havenever won it.

  8. truck says:

Van Gaal looks like a genius with that goalkeeper switch

  9. Alex Gago says:

As long as a South America nation wins thw World Cup… I’m happy!

    • jtm371 says:

If it was Chile or Colombia I am all in,but Brazil and the Argy’s not so much. Germany or Netherlands will do fine for me. :)

  10. Smokey Bacon says:

Watched the game with some Dutch friends. Amazing to watch others go through the agony of penalties. Congratulations to the Netherlands….deserved winners.

And how about that substitution? Big time move by Van Gaal. Genius! Arguably one of the best substitutions of all time.

  11. Huw Roma says:

Inevitably it’s come down to the same old teams in the semi finals. I think those ‘best world cup ever’ cries are long gone now.
