Diego Costa has completed a medical in anticipation of a move to Chelsea, reports The Guardian newspaper. The 25 year-old Atletico Madrid forward would significantly boost the attacking options for manager Jose Mourinho next season. The Blues struggled this past season with three inconsistent strikers and it’s entirely possible Mourinho will call upon an entirely new strike force next season.

According to reports in Europe, Atletico Madrid are willing to sell Costa as long as the buyout clause of £32million is paid by Chelsea. It was reported earlier in May that Chelsea had already agreed to pay the £32million fee.

Costa has been selected for the Spain World Cup team that will travel to his native country of Brazil next week.
