  1. Big day today. First derby in a UCL final. Arda Turan not playing can be a huge factor for Real Madrid.

Good luck to Atletico. Hear that Fox? it’s Atletico, not Athletico.

    1. I’m appalled that you thought they knew anything about the game at all besides the fact that it makes them a truckload of money.

  2. I was questioning my switch to UVerse from DirecTV, but I don’t regret it now since Fox Deportes is in HD on UVerse and I can avoid Aneurysm Gus!

    1. Given the circumstances… I think he so. They have had an unbelievable season, and he is obviously as huge part of it. And given the wacky world of the transfer season and the clubs finances, this may be the last time in a Atleti shirt.

        1. I agree with that sentiment, but I also think clubs the size of Atleti have to take into account the way they treat players to “get the next guy in”. I think this is in the same vein as why BVB did the send off for Lewandowski.

  3. Do they pair Gus with Wynalda so Gus sounds better by comparison?

Can’t believe Wynalda is trying to claim that substitution was scripted, like you would design a tactic that uses one of your 3 subs after 10 minutes.

  4. I would like to congratulate fox for once again ruining my enjoyment of a game by putting on Gus Johnson as the commentator . What a load of c–p .

    1. If you hate it that much don’t watch. I am sick of everyone complaining about Gus instead of enjoying a great game.

  5. Gus has used up all the stats on his sheet and we are only 20 minutes in. Second time he’s informed me it’s an all Spanish final. No sh*t Sherlock.

  6. I can say with absolute certainty that Martin Tyler has never used the world feline to describe what he was seeing on the pitch. Gus has no clue what he’s watching. It’s not right.

  7. Commentary on at Wildwings. Gus not so bad although hes messed up a couple names. Wynalda knows his football but is a terrible announcer. Hes shockingly poor.

      1. I didnt mean his analysis is good here. Its awful. Hes a terrible analyst.

What im saying is he knows football, evidenced by the fact hes a great coach and his opinions on American soccer are spot on.

        1. I’ve seen and heard enough of Wynalda to seriously question if he knows anything about football. He is shocking for somebody who played the game.

    1. That is actually the first mistake i have EVER seen Casillas make. I think he has been on the bench because Lopez has been unbenchable.

Over the course of his career Casillas has put on a clinic on playing the position of goalkeeper. Maybe not the absolute best shot stopper (that was Buffon) but he was always in the right position, making the right decision and organizing his defence superbly. I was shocked to see him make that error because it is completely unlike him.

  8. Aaaaaaaaaaaand……………….GOAL…………….GO-DEE………..36th minute……………………

    1. Benzema is not good enough to get around that defense. Expect Real will make a massive bid for Suarez in the summer if they go down here.

  9. Well boy am I excited now if Gus is shouting. I’m so glad Fox has him to help me understand my soccer emotions. And he’s been very helpful telling me the distance between Mardid and Lisbon. And that Madrid has two teams – one in white and one in red and white stripes. Thanks Fox. Thanks Gus.

  10. Gus Johnson offers nothing as a match announcer other than name checks, time checks and shouting whenever the ball is in the penalty area. Other than that it’s mostly dead air. He has absolutely no clue what he is watching.

    1. I would be hard pressed to say he has been good or even average… But I will say he is much better than he used to be (either that, or I’m just being beat into submission by hearing him so often).

      1. It’s beyond belief. His delivery is tedious. He almost so sounds bored or disinterested. Like he realizes he’s out of his depth.

Today’s attendance is 69,696BALE!!!!!!! Just now. Who does that? He has no timing whatsoever. No sense of occasion either. He could be calling a high school basketball game.

        1. 20 minutes is a long time in football :)

WTF do we know? That’s why we have dumb and dumber to explain what is going on.

  11. Bale has been the flop of the match. World record signing and he’s just been appealing. To have 3 chances and not score is just…..
Has he been practicing with Fernando Torres all week on finishing?

  12. Great shot of Casillas kissing Ramos after the whistle, saying thank you for saving my ass, my career, and my chance of playing in the world cup

      1. The fact that they’ve made it to the final on the budget they have makes you look stupid.
Carlo has won the UCL with the most expensive side in history and the 2 most expensive players of all time so what are we supposed to call him a genius for doing what he was supposed to do?
I’ll congratulate him but Diego won La Liga with a budget less than QPR’s that’s a much bigger achievement
The fact that you question him over making one mistake is just stupid. Do you even watch football outside the Premier League?

        1. how does their budget in any reflect on my intelligence? They lost the game late on defensive error, with out the Costa stunt they could have put a fresh defender on the field, which may have kept them from conceding the late goal.

  13. Hollywood ending for CR match winner at home. If your human your heart goes out to AM so close to the biggest win in club history.

  14. Gareth Bale. What a dream come true for that lad. Welsh boy goes to Real Madrid and scores late winners in the Spanish Cup and Champions League finals. Delivers La Decima to the longing fans of Real Madrid.

  15. AM never looked like they were playing to win, especially in that second half, and it cost them the match.

      1. After RM tied ot up in added time you knew it was all over for AM. They really hadn’t had a sniff at goal all night and knew that was not going to change in extra time.

  16. It’s good for football that the more creative attacking team won this game. Not impressed with AM. Parking the bus only gets you so far.

    1. didn’t park the bus. High pressed until they tired out. 93 minutes of pressing high is not the same as putting 10 players in your own box.

      1. I agree with Grayson.. That wasn’t really parking the bus. They were compact in the back, but they sent men forward and tried to attack. They ran out of gas. Commendable performance on their part, but even more impressive resilience from Real. I’m just disappointed that the end will somewhat tarnish an amazing match.

      2. Call it what you like. They offered next to nothing going forward. All gamesmanship and fouling. Its no surprise who is their coach. It’s how he was as a player.

        1. Their tactical fouling (aka unless you are on a yellow, if your man beats you in a dangerous area bring him down) is a bit annoying.

    1. He’s upset because knows this was his year to do something special and f@*med it up with the Costa stunt so he coulded bring on a fresh defender late in the game and it probably cost them the match and he knows after the game AM will proceed with their annual fire sale.

  17. It’s sad that two great finals in two weeks have been spoiled by the Gus/Wynalda trainwreck. They are shambles in the commentary booth and a disgrace to the sport of soccer

  18. Wanted Real to win but up 3-1 in e.t., I didn’t like Ronaldo diving like that in order to get his moment and further embarrass Atletico who were warriors today.

    1. Says the Liverpool fan 😀
And that wasnt a dive. Tired lazy challenge by a beat defender, and he was tripped.

      1. I don’t care about diving. I just thought it was a bit of overkill. Maybe the ref swallowed the whistle, there were only seconds left. Im not a Ronaldo hater. On the contrary I love watching him play but all year 9/10 on that same play, people would scream dive.
