Manchester United have refused to deny reports that Louis Van Gaal will be the club’s next manager.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that the Glazers and Ed Woodward initially met with Van Gaal two weeks ago during a secret meeting, and that representatives from Manchester United met with this week at Van Gaal’s villa in Portugal. The paper reports that Van Gaal reached an agreement in principle with the club last night for a multi-million pound contract, with the Dutch national team manager set to join United after the World Cup ends this summer.

Van Gaal will reportedly get £100million in transfer funds to spend this summer.

When reached for comment, a Manchester United representative said, “There is nothing to report. We have not signed a new manager. When we have something to report, we will announce it.”
