As if the news couldn’t get any worse for Arsenal fans today, the club has revealed that Mesut Ozil could be out for the next 3 weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in the team’s defeat against Bayern Munich, which sent the North London club crashing out of the UEFA Champions League.

In his post-match interview, Wenger revealed:

“I don’t know (how long he will be out for), but for sure he is out (of the Tottenham game on Sunday).

“We have to make a scan tomorrow to see how bad it is but he’s out for at least a few weeks. I hope it’s not too bad.”

The German midfielder was substituted at half-time in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw (and 3-1 aggregate loss).

Ozil joins a growing injury list at Arsenal with the following players still out due to injury: Jack Wilshere (foot), Nicklas Bendtner (knee), Abou Diaby (knee), Kieran Gibbs (ankle), Kim Kallstrom (back), Nacho Monreal (foot), Aaron Ramsey (thigh), Yaya Sanogo (knock) and Theo Walcott (knee).

Tough news. Unfortunately I think our string of injuries have defined the season… could of, should of, would of.

Not this season, Gunners, but the future looks bright.

  2. M Owen says:

Does Abu Diaby ever leave the Physio room? I think Samuel Jackson’s character from unbreakable is based on him.
