  1. EPLNFL says:

Time change in the US made this a tough one but it’s worth the effort to get up early. Seeing teams from a lower division advance or second tier Prem clubs make a run is the magic of the Cup. While it may have lost a lot of its allure as far as Cup competitions go it is still the top.

  2. IanCransonsKnees says:

Outstanding atmosphere at Bramall Lane, excellently loud rendition of “my greasy chip butty” (look it up) prior to kick off. One of my favourite away grounds to visit, sympathetically redeveloped over the years and a night match there is to be savoured when its a full capacity.

Charlton went bottom of the Championship with not playing yesterday and their rivals pulling off surprises (jtm and Smokey will be well aware), they need a win to avoid the hangover of defeat affecting their league form.

I have no loyalties either way so am just happy that one of them gets to go to Wembley, if I had to choose I’d prefer Sheffield to get there because of the Clough connection as he was one of my footballing heroes.

Jon Brayford is from my little part of SOT and his sister in law cuts my missus’ hair, small world.

    • Smokey Bacon says:

I was hoping Charlton would continue to be distracted by the cup.

Massive win for us yesterday. Keep hope alive!

  3. Christopher Harris says:

I agree with the above lads. Tune in to FOX Soccer Plus or FOX Soccer 2GO to watch the second half of Sheffield United against Charlton. You will not be disappointed!

The winner will play at Wembley, so it’s a huge opportunity for both sides and their supporters.

  4. IanCransonsKnees says:

Blackburn 1 nil up against Burnley at half time. Blackwater have probably split there forces between the Crimea and this match. As vicious a derby game you could wish to see, the police will be hoping Burnley equalise late on.

  5. IanCransonsKnees says:

The Blades on the way to Wembley. Joe Eliot and Sean Bean will be getting leathered tonight.

    Super Johnny Brayford.

  6. Adam Heap says:

Burnley not been playing their usual passing football today. Letting Rovers get away with a lot of hoofball.

  7. Christopher Harris says:

Jozy Altidore isn’t in the starting XI nor on the bench today. Sunderland striker Ignacio Scocco gets another start instead.

I warned Jozy fans about this in January.

    • IanCransonsKnees says:

Should he go to Brazil? Two chances at the Premier League now, is it a step up to far?

      • Christopher Harris says:

Unfortunately, the US doesn’t have many other options, so despite how poor Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey have both been playing, both players are guaranteed spots on the World Cup team. There’s very little to no competition for spaces in the squad.

    • scott says:

He had already flopped in the PL once, why did people believe this time would different.

  8. Adam Heap says:

Two goals in five glorious minutes and Burnley are eight points clear of third! Thirty-five years it’s been since they’ve beaten Blackburn and I am LOVING it! We’re headed back to the promised land!

  9. scott says:

Demechillis gives up another pentalty. And people have the gall to say this guy is unfairly critisized.

  10. Flyvanescence says:

Navas is in terrible form. Milner and silva both should have started. 4-4-2 with navas doesnt seem to work.

  11. Flyvanescence says:

  12. Flyvanescence says:

Yaya has been poor but why do we still have 2 strikers on with no more subs????

  13. scott says:

I know have been so disappointed with lately and Milner is such a workhorses, which in these type of games are so valuable. And Negrado has fallen off the face of the earth.

    • scott says:

      *with Navas

    • Flyvanescence says:

Id like to see 4-2-3-1 with Dzeko up top andMilner wide right v Barça.

      Aguero super-sub possibly

      • scott says:

I like that formation. When Dzeko is on his game he can create a lot of chances, now can finish those chances. And Milner is the kind of player who can give Barca trouble on the wings and really contribute in defense.

        • Flyvanescence says:

Dzeko always tends to play well as a lone striker and with the other 2 off form id go with that. And i think Barça could underestimate Milner like Bayern did.

  14. Flyvanescence says:

With a finisher as good as Nasri, why does Pellegrini feel the need to play 2 strikers as well?

  15. Smokey Bacon says:

City must be warming up the kitchen sink for the last 10 minutes.

Ladies and gentleman, we have a cup tie. Come on Wigan!

  16. Flyvanescence says:

Oh Dzeko you break our hearts occasionally.

  17. jtm371 says:

GO WIGAN win one for the minnows!

  18. Smokey Bacon says:

Is there time for an Agueeeeeeeerrrrrrrroooooooooo!?

  19. Smokey Bacon says:

Put some snow on it Wigan!

  20. scott says:

Well, Arsenal fans are feeling a lot better about their FA Cup chances. City losing to Wigan two years in a row smh.

    • Smokey Bacon says:

Don’t under estimate Wigan. They are going for one of the great cup stories if they go all the way.

      • scott says:

I agree, but lets be fair Arsenal won’t be starting a backline of Demechellis, Lescott, Clichy, and Richards with Garcia as DM either so I like their chances.

  21. jtm371 says:

It is setup for the Gunners but we thought that for the League Cup vs Birmingham.

Great win for Wigan well done on to the big W!

  22. Brian says:

Don’t underestimate Wigan as they have only lost once in their last 9 since Uwe Rosler has been in charge. Arsenal will have their hands full. Still, I expect them to get to the final with a possible showdown with Hull.

  23. R.O says:

See Fox relegated FA Cup games to either only online (boo) or to Fox2, which very few people have.

Fox has become a big joke.
