Nineteen years after Eric Cantona kung fu kicked a spectator in the crowd at Selhurst Park, Manchester United return to Crystal Palace in a much different scenario. That season, Crystal Palace were relegated while Manchester United lost the title on the final day of the season to Blackburn Rovers. This season, the Eagles have flown out of the relegation zone while United are off the pace and not looking anywhere near Premier League title contenders. Plus, the Red Devils have no player in the same calibre as King Eric.

For today’s match between Crystal Palace against Manchester United, we’re experimenting with a new way of letting you follow and interact with the game online. Developed by a team of Indiana University students, Fandio is an online platform for fans to listen to and engage in analysis and discussion in a chat room. You’ll also get a chance to listen to a live alternative audio commentary of the match by yours truly.

The broadcast begins at 12:15pm ET. Listen in or join the conversation from 12:15pm ET to 2:30pm ET via this link.

Some of the benefits of Fandio are:

• As long as you have a mic, you can be invited to join the audio conversation with any questions or comments you may have about the match (or World Soccer Talk),
• You can participate in the live chat stream,
• You can upvote smart or funny comments,

You don’t need to register (but it’s free and easy) to listen to the commentary or watch the online chat. But if you do want to enter a comment in the chat or get called up to broadcast, you’ll need to take two minutes to registerWatch the Fandio demo to learn more.

I look forward to seeing you online for this fun journey!
