Incensed by the referee’s decision to disallow a brilliant goal by Cheick Tiote against Manchester City, Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew verbally abused Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini on the touchline.

While there’s no audio available of the incident, it appears that Pardew said (see video below) “Shut yours, you f***ing old c***.”

While people can say things in the heat of the moment they later regret, Manuel Pellegrini deserves an apology from Pardew. At the same time, the match officials owe Pardew an apology, which will probably never happen unfortunately.
