Hull City have agreed a fee with Everton to sign striker Nikica Jelavic just days after the club was reportedly close to signing West Brom striker Shane Long.

While Hull and Everton have agreed a fee, it’s now up to Hull City and Jelavic to agree player terms as well as the Croatian passing a medical. If those steps go smoothly, Jelavic could be a Hull City footballer as early as next week.

At Everton this season, manager Roberto Martinez was unable to rejuvenate Jelavic back to scoring a ton of goals again. But Jelavic did score two goals and miss a penalty against QPR in the FA Cup in his first start for Everton since September.

Queens Park Rangers reportedly met with Everton officials last week to try to secure a £3.5m deal to send Jelavic to QPR, but it looks likely that the Croat will be heading to Humberside.
