Six weeks after reporting that Bob Bradley may be heading to Norway to manage a club team in that country, it appears that Bradley will finally be unveiled as manager of Norwegian club side Stabaek tomorrow, thus becoming the first American to manage a top flight side in Europe.

Bradley’s contract as manager of the Egypt national team was not renewed after the side failed to qualify for FIFA World Cup 2014. Despite not reaching Brazil, his two year tenure as manager of Egypt is seen by many as a success given the circumstances. Bradley had to deal with the Egyptian football league being shut down, as well as the political climate in the country, which made it very difficult to stay focused on the job at hand.

Stabaek are currently in the Premier League in Norway, and they recently sacked their coach Petter Belsvik.

Managing Stabaek will give Bradley the opportunity to raise his profile in Europe. And, if he does well in Norway, there’s always the opportunity to move up the ladder to other jobs on that continent.
