Sunderland forward Fabio Borini has been rushed to the hospital after collapsing in the dressing room at half time, where he was unconscious. The Italian left the ground on a stretcher with a drip attached before being rushed to the hospital.

Borini has regained consciousness and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. After the match, Sunderland manager Gus Poyet said that he hopes that Borini will be well enough to fly home tonight.

Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher replaced Borini on the pitch for the second half.
