French media are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are weighing up the option of placing a bid for Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, which means that PSG would need to pay the €250million release clause to land the world’s best footballer.
The report in the French daily newspaper Le Parisien reveals that Messi is dissatisfied with Barcelona vice president Javier Faus’s comments about his contract renewal. Plus, the newspaper reports that Messi has issues with Spanish tax authorities and is uncertain about the arrival of Neymar.
The newspaper reports that there are no concerns about the compatibility of Messi playing alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The paper argues that Zlatan’s dissatisfaction with Barcelona is due to former manager Pep Guardiola, and not Messi.
While Le Parisien may have sources close to the PSG club, the reports are just speculation and there’s no guarantee that Barcelona or Messi would agree a deal. It is a news story worth watching however.
