As we head into the hectic period of the 2013/14 season with matches coming thick and fast, the English football sides have their first opportunity to grab a piece of silverware with the Capital One Cup. But they first have to fend their way through the quarter-finals of the tournament.

In League Cup news, the Goal Line Technology from Hawkeye will be used today and tomorrow for the first time ever in a domestic cup competition in England.

Over at Tottenham Hotspur, Tim Sherwood will take charge of the Spurs side, giving him a chance to make a case for the full-time Tottenham manager position vacated by Andre Villas-Boas.
