Clint Dempsey has rejoined Fulham on a two-month loan deal, according to a report by website zapsportz.

Reporter Harry Harris says that Dempsey rejected an opportunity to move on loan to West Ham United, instead choosing to return to Craven Cottage where he played for the Cottagers from 2007-2012.

Dempsey is currently a Seattle Sounders footballer, but has been encouraged by USMNT head coach Jurgen Klinsmann to play in Europe during the MLS off-season in order to keep his match sharpness. Dempsey was interviewed on December 6 on ESPN regarding a potential loan move to Europe. At the time, the American said that a loan deal would be finalized within one week. If the above news report is true that Dempsey is headed back to Fulham, Dempsey has remained true to his word.

A West Ham United insider revealed to Harris that:

“He is going back to Fulham for two months, its a done deal.

“He will return to play for Fulham for the two months or so during the close season in MLS. We tried to get him on loan but he chose to go back to his old club instead.”

The article mentions that Dempsey will join Fulham in January, to help the club get out of the relegation danger zone. Fulham is currently third from bottom in the Premier League.

Fulham have not made an announcement yet regarding the news.
